If I only wear the acrylic nails for two weeks, will my natural nails be really damaged?

I got my nails done on Monday. I had really nice, thick, long nails. If I keep the acrylic nails on for two weeks, will my nails be completely damaged? Will my nails not look that bad? Will my nails recover quickly since it is only two weeks? This is my first time having acrylic nails. Please help me. I'm just really worried that my nails will take months to recover. If I only wear the acrylic nails for two weeks, will my natural nails be really damaged?
Nooooo!!

Stop worrying honestly!!

As long as you dont pull the acrylic nails off and you either let them fall off or soak your hand in warm water untill they fall off then your nails will be fine!

However i wouldn't get them too often because if you have them alot it can damage your natural nails. :)If I only wear the acrylic nails for two weeks, will my natural nails be really damaged?
Yes, your nails will be damaged. When getting acrylic or any kind of artificial nails, they file down the thickness of you natural nails. Once you have the artificial nails removed it takes a lot of time for your nails to grow to where they are healthy. You will need to find a nail strengthener that actually works and some stuff to promote your nails growing quickly. After I had acrylic nails for about 1 month(I couldn't stand them), I went through quite a few products to try to make my nails grow and strengthen them, because a lot of them don't really work well. Its more of a hit and miss on which products will work for you.
It doesn't matter how long you keep them on. The problem is that they adhere so firmly to the natural nail that you are bound to lose some of the surface of the nail when removing the acrylics. Your natural nails will have to grow back from the root before they look healthy again, and it can be very tender and painful. So be prepared to keep them or destroy your current natural nails.

Wearing them for extremely long periods of time (years of getting them filled) can eventually cause your nails to be weak and thin, and they may never be sturdy again.
It really all depends on who did your nails. The damage caused by acrylic comes from the nail tech. If you went to a budget nail salon where they use an electric file to file your natural nail and where they use cheap products, then yes, your natural nail will be damaged. If you went to a quality, reputable salon where a qualified professional did your nails, then the damage done should be very minimal if any.
Really its not a matter of how long you leave them on for. What ruins your nails is putting the plastic on top of them with super glue, covering that with acrylic, then ripping them off 2 weeks later. Ya, you can use acetone and nail remover to try to get them off nicely, but in the end, you will have to pull the nail off of your natural nail, causing damage. They will recover--once that whole nail grows out and fresh nail grows in.
How damaged your nails are after wearing acrylics depends on the condition of your nails before you put the acrylics on.

First, have the acrylics removed professionally or allow them to fall off. Do NOT pull them off.

Then, us a protective nail polish daily until your nail condition improves. I love Sally Hansen Hard As Nails.

I also use Nutra Nail 5 to 7 Day Growth Protein Formula. I have thin, brittle nails and this treatment makes them grow quickly and strengthens them at the same time.
Weeeeeeeeellll, its surprising to me that they stayed on that

long, but this could go yes or no, but i dont know for sure but

i would have to say yeah they will be some what damaged because

having fake nails on just for like a week hurts them because the

nail cant breathe so, yeah i think so. maybe not months though.
They won't be damaged per say but they will be thinner on the top and thicker where they have grown in. It doesn't look very nice. Try buying fake ones at the drug store and using a lot of the nail glue they provide. Have very clean nails to start with and don't do anything that will make them come off, cause they come off pretty easy.
If you get the place where you had the put on take them off it won't damage your nails at all. I've had acrylics off and on for years and they only damaged my real nails if I broke on, just be careful and they'll look great. Though, I have to ask why did you get them on if you only wanted them for 2 weeks? Just seems like a waste to me.
Ok ......... DONT WORRY!!!! I do this all the time! The longer you leave them on and the more you go and have ';fills'; done the more they will be damaged. Period. However,When you go to take them off DONT PULL THEM OFF OR GO TO THE SALON AND HAVE THEM TAKEN OFF. Just let them grow out but buff the top lightly! Go out and buy ';solar oil'; its awesome for the nails. Rub that in at the cutical everyday. Once the acrylics come off cut them short and just keep putting that oil on your natural nailbed.
the damamge to your nails comes from when they put the acrylics on. they use a buffer with a really rough grit paper to file off part of your natural nail, making them much thinner and suceptable to breakage and tearing.

if you dont want to damamge your nails, i recommend that you skip the fake ones
when you get your nails done they actually sand your natural nails down so whatever damage you have is already done, it won't matter how long you have them on. you have to let your nails be natural and completley grow out again to get them back to normal sorry :(
yes they will be damaged whether you have them for 2 days, 2 months or 2 years. the damage is from how they file your nails with the rotary tool. if you take the nails off, your nails will be thin and damaged until they grow out
Mine were pretty damaged after I took off my nails, and I only had them on for a few days. But I have really thin nails to begin with. I just cut them short, and filed the ends. Then took of those nail buffer things to the tops. They don't look too bad now.
unless you got solar nails, they could get damaged. i would definitely not try to pull them off. but regular acrylic will damage your nails no matter how long you have them on. but they will grow back and be like they were before!
Depending on if they filed the nails down or not, it may take a month or two. Don't pull the nails off! Buy some acetone and put your nails inside a bowl of it. Let it soak, and they should come off easily.
I had my acrylics on for like three weeks and when I got them off they were kind of damaged, there was like some glue and stuff. But I painted over them and it took like a week to recover.
If you peel them off then that can damage your nails. Make sure that when you take them off you use a nail hardening cream. Always do that and your nails should stay healthy. Also give them some time to re-grow between manicures.
They are already damaged. They damaged them when they put them on. When you take them off you're going to have to grow them completely out to get rid of the filed down nails that you will have left.
Don't be worried!

Your nails will be fine, BUT, if you continue wearing acrylic nails your natural nails will turn yellow, become weak and brittle. :)
i GET THEM ALL THE TIME . IT ALL DEPENDS IF THE PERSON IS DOING ARE PUTTING THEM ON RIGHT AND ARE TAKING CARE OF YOUR NAILS . YOUR NAILS WILL BE FINE.

PS: USE CRYSTAL NEXT TIME THAT MAKES YOUR NAILS LONG AND THICK

TRUST =D
it will be damaged..

it takes quite a while to recover

just for ur whole nail to grow back

that's what happened to me

it's a little painful at first because ur real nails become more sensitive
well it just depends......sometimes the acrylic nail can get dirty underneath, and cause fungus on the original nail bed, just be careful not to pull them off and wash your hands a lot
your nails will proably not be in the condition they were before, but they shouldnt be completely damaged.
i think so because of what they do to your nails b 4 they put the fake ones on.....they use that drill thing and everything taking layers off the natural nail
you nails will might turn yellow and the top layer of you nail will go away
no my mom has fake nail and her regulaar nails are fine but dont rip off the fake ones or it will rip off the real ones
I would've just gotten a regular manicure if you have pretty nails! Stupid Idea!
no just be careful when removing them
no they will be fine as long as you let the fake ones come off on there own time don't try to pull them off
Yes.
